Born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY to parents Victoria and George Sluti, Jean was the youngest of 3 children.  Extremely creative and artistic, she loved writing, drawing, and sewing. Growing up in Latham, she attended Shaker High School, then went on to study cosmetology.  Jean had several jobs as she went through life and ended up retiring from BJ’s Wholesale Club, working in Inventory Management. 

Jean lived for 30+ years in Ravena, NY where she enjoyed the wildlife - with a special place in her heart for deer and hummingbirds she would feed on her back porch. She loved having her children and grandchildren there, exploring the woods and hosting annual Easter egg hunts.   

Jean passed away on March 6, 2023 after a battle with lung cancer.  She was predeceased by many family and friends - including her beloved sister, Joyce Burega and partner Brian Kahl.  She leaves behind her son Douglas Hutton and his wife Megan, her daughter Victoria Barrows & husband Beauregard, and her grandchildren Ryan, and Tobey Hutton and Gregory & Maxwell Barrows, along with her brother George Sluti, many nieces, nephews and friends.
